Tech Nite 20th February

A fascinating Tech Nite with good attendance.  Many highlights, but the key points were:

  1. David VK4JM gave a great talk on the Bouvet Island DXpedition and his successful FT8 and CW QSOs – using the club’s FlexRadio HF station.
  2. We launched the online auction of the Icom 735 HF 100 watt transceiver and matching power supply
  3. John Moyle Contest Sat 18th March – a reminder.  And there seemed good consensus that we should start at 2 pm for our six hour session, and run into the evening.  Remember, last year, we won this contest in the section multi operator, six hour, multi band category.
  4. Geoff V4GNT gave us an update on the club’s Magnetic loop build project – another meeting scheduled for Sunday at the Museum. Details to follow.
  5. FreeDMR is gaining in popularity – Martin VK4MCU runs a Thursday night Late Night Net at 9 ppm.
  6. Phil VK4PG gave us an update on the Museum Training Room/Workshop project
