Tech/Social night

Radios connected across the globe

Our next Tech/Social meeting at the museum is on Monday 18th March, 7:00PM for 7:30PM start. Visitors are always welcomed. The main event is a presentation and demonstration by Damo, VK4FDPM describing the Allstar network system.

Also on the agenda is a quick update on recent club activities, time for a coffee and a chat with your colleagues, and of course any ‘show-and-tells’ that you bring along to introduce to the group – your latest technology acquisitions or home brew projects etc. Its also a good time to enlist the help with anything from the other members,

The Allstar amateur radio system is a network of repeaters and nodes that allows amateur radio operators to link radio users together through the internet, enabling global communication. Similar in concept to IRLP and Echolink, but Allstar is a more recent development with some advantages.
